Character Values of Iwahori-Hecke Algebras of Type B.

Abstract.

In this article we determine the character table of the generic Iwahori-Hecke algebra of type B. The main result follows from two deformations of the Murnaghan-Nakayama formula for the character values of symmetric groups. These two results are derived in the more general context of cyclotomic algebras of type B which have recently been defined by Broué and Malle and by Ariki and Koike.
